2. The journal will cover the following areas: ethnobotany, ethnoecology, ethnopharmacology, ethnomedicine, traditional medicine and healthcare, indigenous knowledge, perception and practices, traditional technologies related to medicine formulation as well as other related areas in nutritional, medicinal and visual anthropology.

3. The journal publishes original papers, review articles and short communications on all aspects of ethnobotany and related fields.

4. Authors must accept full responsibility for the contents and opinions expressed in the manuscript.

5. All manuscript submitted to the journal will be peer-reviewed. Editor will decide on whether the manuscript should be: accepted, accepted after minor revisions, accepted after major revisions or rejected. The final decision to accept or reject a manuscript will be taken by the editor.

6. Submission of Manuscript

All contributions must be submitted in English and follow the specific submission requirement stated below.

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to Ethnobotanical Leaflets.

Manuscripts must be submitted by one of the authors of the manuscript, and should not be submitted by anyone on their behalf. The submitting author takes responsibility for the article during submission and peer review.

Each submission must be accompanied by a cover letter stating that the paper contains original research and that the information has not been published elsewhere.

Any manuscript submitted to the journal must not already have been published in another journal or be under consideration by any other journal.

The minimum requirements for a manuscript to qualify for peer review are that it has been prepared by strictly following the format and style of the journal as mentioned below, and should meet the Ethnobotanical Leaflets standard. Submission may, however, be returned without review if, in the opinion of the editor, is inappropriate for the journal, is of poor quality or fails to follow the journals format/ style.

5. Methods

The method section includes the design of the study, concise details of the methodology adopted in field / lab. works, and the types of analysis used.

6. Results and Discussion

Results and Discussion may be combined into a single section or presented separately. In results, tables, figures, or photographs can be used. But excessive use of tables, diagrams, etc should be avoided. Tables and figures must be referred to in the text in numerical order. All illustrations are referred to as Figures. All units of measurement must be reported via the metric system. Notes/footnotes are not allowed.

Authors must check very carefully nomenclature and authors of plants in their papers. Reviewers and editors cannot be expected to spend time on checking names of plants.

Ethnobotanical, phytochemical and other data on plants must give proper reference of voucher specimen i.e. name, collector, number, locality, accession number and name of herbarium where specimens are deposited.

7. Conclusion

This section states clearly the main conclusions of the research and gives clear explanations of their importance and relevance.

8. Acknowledgement

Please acknowledge anyone who contributed towards the study by making sustainable contributions to conception, design, acquisition, data analysis and interpretation of data or who are involved in drafting the manuscript or critically reviewing for important intellectual content.

9. References

Bibliography is not allowed. Only references should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper without numbering. All references must be cited in the text with authors name and year of publication in parentheses; where there are two or more papers by the same author in one year, distinguishing letters (a,b,c.d.) should be added to the year. Review Papers

Reviews are full-length state-of-the art articles. These papers should also cover recent initiatives taken in the respected areas and identification of gaps in our knowledge and recommendation for future study and other actions.

Short Communications

Short Communications are mostly intended to allow concise reporting of the results of ethnobotanical surveys on relatively small areas/tribal pockets. These would not exceed 4 Journal pages including graphs, tables and figures.

General Submission Rules

Manuscripts dealing in research in all fields of ethnobotany, in any reasonable length, biographical sketches, and critical reviews and summaries of literature will be considered for web publication. Casual notes and floristic lists will also be considered if the main focus falls on plant species of economic interest. Advice on the suitability of manuscripts will be solicited, if necessary, from qualified scientists.

Although authors are not required to follow any single style guide for their submissions, it is expected that the papers will be well organized, written in grammatically correct English, and without spelling errors. Whenever possible, papers should be proofed by someone well familiar with English grammar and spelling. Although the body of the paper is to be in English, abstracts in other languages are acceptable.

Literature citations for books should include the date and place of publication, as well as the publisher. Journal names should be spelled out, rather than abbreviated. Scientific names should include the authority. Binomials are italicized.

Manuscripts should be prepared using MSWORD for WINDOWS. We can not accept articles typed in Word Perfect, Adobe PDF or Powerpoint. Do not number the pages. As each article will be printed on the web exactly as received, the text should be in final form prior to submission. All formatting (such as in the use of bold, underlining or italicizing) remains the responsibility of the author.

Use the "Times New Roman" font if available. Body of manuscript should be 12 point type. Title is 16 point bold and headings are 12 or 14 point bold.

Figures and tables should be numbered and inserted directly into the text. There is no charge for color graphs or illustrations.

Each and every author carries the right to print out and distribute their own articles. Reprints are not furnished by the journal.
